Today I learned how to inject insulin and we got to see the simulator mannequins.
It was pretty awesome. I’ll upload pictures [eventually, can’t really do it here].
I kept having issues because of the air bubbles in the syringe, but that was alright. I was afraid I would poke myself by accident, haha.
I think this is really cool, since its related to the research I’m doing for UMC.

I might be in the media! UCONN’s Nursing program never had students do projects with the Nursing School like with Mentor Connection before. So they’re interested in us students here in the nursing site. Hurrah. =]

So I got to go see the Rockefeller Estate at Kykuit today. Absolutely amazing. I’ll upload photos within a few days. =]
So my cake came out the way it was supposed to.
A lot of people were telling me it tasted great [which I thought it did too], and that made me happy. =]
I was so frustrated with it, and I didn’t think it was coming out very well as I was making it. But thats over and it ended up coming out great.

Remind me to actually follow the directions in the cook book next time I make frosting.
First I was supposed to add only 4 table spoons of milk. I read it wrong, and started adding 4 cups, to the shortening I already put in the bowl. I had to take it all out and put it in a seperate container.
Also, I was supposed to add the confectioners sugar slowly. There was 4 and a half cups of it. I added...
After a few hours of shopping, and much frustration, I am half through baking my cake. My test cupcakes are a fail, as I realized I forgot to add butter to the bottom layer. Ah, the cake is coming out the way its supposed to, I can already tell. =]
I need to go get the ingredients for my cake.
